I hope I heard wrong, but I just heard a news blurb that said, "President Bush today signed legislation naming Sept. 11 Patriot's Day. It will be commemorated by lowering of flags, . . ." WTF? I have no problem commemorating that god-awful day, but someone needs to tell the f'ing pols that we already have a Patriot's Day--April 19. You know, the "shot heard 'round the world" day. And, if I dare say, it commemorates a more significant, though not contemporary, event in the history of this great Country. Wouldn't some other name have been more appropriate? What was "patriotic" about being brutally murdered while at work? Patriotism had nothing to do with the events of Sept. 11, but had everything to do with beginning a war for independence with the greatest superpower of the day. Again, I'm not saying we shouldn't do everything to "never forget" the horror of Sept. 11, just not by "stealing" another sacred day. [rolleyes]
