11/63: In 6th grade, announcement about the pres being killed. weird. him, dead? can't be. but they're letting us out early. scenes, kid shouting, panicky, "Kennedy's DEAD! rode home numb and perplexed. this was not supposed to be happening. watched TV for the next 3 days. saw oswald get shot live, first guy i ever saw get shot and die. you know the rest..
1/28 was off from work, and watching the launch like many times before. usual flawless launch until... never forget the fireball, and the droll, controlled, fighter jock voice saying "obviously a major malfunction"...
9/11 munchin breakfast when the cook rushed out of the kitchen breathlessly with the news.
went home, and fired up the TV and ar15.com.. saw the second hit live, and the collapse of the towers.
stayed on-line for the rest of the day. and no, i'll not forget that one either.
the worst was when Kennedy gave the cuban missile crisis speech, and i realized that i lived at a major target. for some reason, i went and hugged my sleeping cat, because i felt sorry it was going to die...
guess i've seen a few things. and i don't recommend any of them, dammit
