anyone know where to find one without breaking the piggy bank? no sense spending $50+ on a beater surplus rifle.

the only design that I liked was the 74 style brake but they were out of stock.

anyone know where I can find one? tantal, russian, Ak74 style is what I'm looking for to try and keep the theme with this rifle.

Thanks.

It's an SKS, so I'm trying to keep it either rusian, belgian, yugo, etc... I don't want to put a phantom, or birdcage type on it.

also needs to be made in USA.

IIRC 14 x 1 mm are left hand threads.

Why would you want to put a "break" in a muzzle?

The first time you fired it the barrel would probably split.

I think I have an AK74 style at home.  I'll check tonight.  Came off a ban-era BM.  If I find it I'll send you a pic.

AK74 type muzzle device made for AR15s (1/2 x28 tpi)

What type of rifle are you installing this on?

If you are really stuck, I believe a device with 1/2" x 28 thread could be bored out and threaded 14 x 1 mm.  On a lathe, by someone who knows what he's doing.

59/66?

Scratch that, I just researched it, and even the 59/66 (the only threaded muzzle SKS I know of) is a LH pattern.

the 59/66 is RH, not LH.
I removed the GL and need to replace it with an American made muzzle device to keep
922 copliant.

this is what I'm looking for:

I don't know who's right, because this ad claims it's LH:

You get a free bump anyhoo...

Thanks for helping out. I tried installing several different AK MB's on it and none of them will thread on. All the other sites that I have researched say it's 14x1RH.

I already found the solution... I'm going to modify an L1A1 5 slot flash hider to fit.
there is a space behind the threads that will bump into the front sight, but I'm going to
cut it to fit. to make up for the foreign part I'm going to install a US made gas piston.
I'll post up some pics and a range report once I'm done with the project... just don't expect anything as fancy as O_P's box o' truth.
