The AK and SKS rifles are probably the most reliable battle rifles ever made.
Having said that, they are as ergonomic as a fence post, clumsy, hard to shoot well, and chambered in a caliber that most would not use for deer hunting beyond 150 ro 200 yards.

My "can't pass" price would be $600 for the three pieces (I'm cheap).

Two hundred each for the SKSs that sound like they're in excellent condition (& somewhat desirable if any SKS can be considered "desirable"=) would be too good to hope for. $300 each is honestly more like it, but that's about $75 more than I'd pay for an SKS.

The Chinese, AK (With very few exceptions) is only worth $200/$250 - TO ME. Like the SKSs, it'll fetch $300, but not from ME.  2¢

I don't want to mislead you at all, but here goes.

I thought the Clayco's were preban, though I could be wrong. You might want to email Campybob. He know's quite a bit about AK's and MIGHT have an idea. If so, I'd imagine $600 wouldn't be a bad price for it.

If the AK isn't a preban, I wouldn't give more than $400 for the two, especially since the bore is only ok and their is surface rust.

The Ak is of course the major point here. Figuring out what that is worth is the key. Hell, even if it is a preban, the guy selling it might just need the cash and get rid of it for cheap. Either way, I wouldn't give more than $150 for the SKS.

I wish I could be more helpfull. Good luck!

Clayco's ARE pre-ban's.  Good stuff.

$600 would be a good deal, $700 about average.

Russian SKS's are getting more rare.  Figure in the $200-300 range for that.

If he can get both for $700, he steals them.  If he gets them for $850, he got a fair deal.

Maybe I was unclear. 1 AK, 1 SKS.

No,
you were clear (I just misread #2 as a quantity).

My window would still be four hundred to four fifty for the two pieces...

I'd offer at first $450 for both. The AK is worth AT LEAST $600 alone since it is a preban. The SKS, I'd think around $300. Just work your way up with the offers. I wouldn't go over $650 though. Depending on the seller and when he bought it, you might be able to get it VERY cheap if he doesn't know the current prices of what they are worth.
I knew someone with a NIB preban AK that he sold for $500 (right before the CA ban) since he didn't know the current prices. I had a friend that sold his slightly used preban HK91 with folding stock for $800 (worth a few thousand) for the same reason. You guys might get lucky on this one.
