At first light today I opend the back door and poped of 15 of the new slugs I got the other day.
They are made by Brenneke and work damn well,I have always been good with shotguns but this was the very best shot I have(or have ever seen) made.

1oz rifled slug from a Mossberg 590 with a 20" barrel,DEAD! on at 168 years!

I was shooting at a dang can,I did noit even know thast it was a slug that was in the gun .
I weas just going to see if I could get lucky and see if I could moke it with 00buck for the hell of it.

I got out the tape and me and the wife found it to be 168.71 yards!!!!!!!!!

You don't have to tell me I'm the man but if it makes you feel better go ahead[:D]

Sounds like you might have a sub-MOA shotgun. [:D]

i shoot these out of my 10.5" bbl. benelli, with excelent results. i prefer them to forster(?sp?) type slugs. better accuracy out of shorter bbls. dick's has 'em for $1.89 a box. i think gander mtn. may be a little cheaper now.

I just killed an 8-point buck this morning with a Brenneke.  That 1-o.z. slug does the job.

I think you were just a little lucky[:)]! Although i have head great accuracy results with the Brenneke.
My favorite is the lightfield sabot, only because i use a full rifled barrel,,,pat

I think you may be right(ok I know you are) but it's still cool[:D]

the lightfield is a very good slug but I don't have a rifled barrel, but I can still get 75-100 yards out of these things.
I WILL buy more.

Is Brenneke loaded ammo any good or do you guys use other brands with just the Brenneke style slug?

Questions-Does your 590 the heavy wall barrel
and is it drilled and tapped for a scope. I am going to order on one here in a bit and was wondering... I am wanting to get the heavy wall barrel and bead site cuz I want to install a different ghost ring ...I would appreciate any feedback on the 590....

I use Brenneke and other brands of Brenneke-style slugs. Luv 'em. Excellent killers and accurate too.
I have just about had it with sabot slugs. They are just too damn expensive! $10 for a box of 5? Forget it! Brennekes may not have the range, but they'll damn sure do whatever needs doing up to 100 yds! And they only cost $2-3 a box, even for 3".
$2 a shot?! I can shoot .50BMG cheaper![:(!]
