to Glock and Ruger owners for saying their pistols are ugly and that lead reloads won't work in Glocks.
They are fine weapons.

(edited to add they are fine weapons)

As a Ruger pistol owner (twice), no problem!

I own a Ruger P90 .45 and a P89 9mm. I don't care if they are ugly or not... so long as they perform as needed. So far, they are reliable weapons.

I am not a big fan of Glocks myself. Too light for my taste. After going through 3-4 boxes in an afternoon, Glocks leave my palm feeling like I slept on it all night. But as far as looks go I could care less.

Pretty women are for good looks. Guns are for shooting.

Hmmm. My 21 is more comfortable to shoot than my 1911. Fits my hands way better too. They may be ugly, but so am I. Use an aftermarket barrel to shoot lead/reloads.

Bearlaker,
How courteous of you to offer an apology that way! :)
We all from time to time dislike certain weapons though, and it in no way, casts any aspersions on those who *do* like those brands.
Every person has a different sense of what feels "right" in their hands, and what shoots well for them.
This is why we encourage beginners to try so many different guns before choosing which they like.
And, although I love my little G-29 Glock, yeah, I would have to agree, it is about as pretty as a tiny black shoebox.
I carry it because I love it's reliability, accuracy, small size, and I am a 10mm fan.
But pretty? no way :)

(edited to add... You are right about the unjacketed lead though, at least in this gun...the high pressures generated by 10mm, combined with the polyagonal rifling, absolutely preclude using those in this gun.)

sweet!  that's what  have.. blue P89 and stainless p90.  only problems I've ever had was cheap ammo. I got a case of 9mm that avgs 1 failure to fire every 150-200 rounds.

My friend shoots lead reloaded ammo in his Glock 40.  I imgaine that he has about 10,000 rounds thru his glock suffering no problem at all and they are real accurate.

The only ugly gun is the one you're looking down the barrel of.
