THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT Sorry for the shitty pictures Front of the line. These people apparently arrived yesterday afternoon. A guy with several "Guns Save Lives" plackards. More of the line, with the Supreme Court building in the background Some people already getting to sleep. Others playing cards. Judging by the empty pizza boxes, you CAN get pizza delivered to the sidewalk in front of the Supreme Court Already four media trucks. Everyone was very nicely behaved. I didn't see any security or police or anything. Just some reporters and cameramen (mostly sitting in their vans) |

Were they all pro gun?

My impression was that a LOT of them were law school students, so I'm not sure a lot of them were staunchly pro- or anti-. My guess is that of the ones who are strongly on one side or the other, the majority of the people who went to the trouble of camping out are por-gun. |

I wish you could have gotten a better picture of the Guns save life.
Was it Gunssavelife.com? That is a pro-gun group from my county here in IL. They would love good pictures for the newspaper. |

When we were standing at the back of the line, and I'm guessing there were at least 60-70 people, my wife asked me if I wanted to get in (and she could have gone back to the house and grabbed a sleeping back for me) - but because I didn't know how many seats are available, I didn't want to take a chance and spend all night out there, just to discover that there were only 30 seats for the public. ![]() |

They really let these people who have been squatting outside like teenagers before a rock show, in to see the proceedings? I think that's good and all, but is there a dress/hygiene code they have to follow? I know there is for regular court. Just curious, I've never been to the Supreme Court.

I regularly hassle Johnny_Reno if he neglects to include a picture of a monkey in his "Pictures in the News' recurring threads. |

So they only get to be in there for 3 minutes and they move then next group in? Hope that's 3 minutes of in session, I'd hate to have 3 minutes while one or more of the justices was on a potty break

I think it might be a little longer than 3 minutes. But yes, they do only get to sit for a short period of time and then a new group will get to sit. |

Actually, I believe there are TWO lines set up in the morning. One if for people that actually get to sit there for the entire session (starts seating at 9:30 AM), and the other line is for people that just get to quiety shuffle through (starting at 10:00 AM) - and see a couple of minutes. The people camping out are there for the former. |
