When I was a kid I had several of these M-16 type rifles. They were molded black plastic A-1 type rifles with triangular handguards. They had a white trigger and when you pulled it they made a RRRRR RRRRR sound. These guns were almost an exact replica of the M-16 in about 2/3 scale. I am NOT talking about the Mattell Marauder. The gun I am talking about was really cheap, like you would get at K Mart or TG&Y. They had a tendancy to break between the barrel and reciever. I had like 10 or 12 of these through the 70s. Anybody have a clue what I'm talking about?

I know what you're talking about, as I had a dozen or so of these also. If you are looking for a brand name, I don't have a clue. I don't know if they were made by the same company or not, but I also liked the Tommy guns, that tended to break in the same area. Took down a lot of bad guys with them things over the years.

Did anyone have a "Cayman" M-16? Those were sweeet, every kid in my neighborhood "war" game had one.

The battery powered squirt guns were neat.

SWEET FITTER! I think that's it. Where did you get that pic? You have any idea who made it? I searched E-bay for hours last night and couldn't find one. Is that one for sale? It's kinda hard to tell from the pic but I'm pretty sure that's it.

I have one very similar to that only it has the bayo lug! I paid like $8 for it a couple months ago. I found it in one of those "temporary" halloween stores that open up every year... Sorry, no pic.

I had a toy M16 that was approx. 2/3 size of actual rifle. It had brown furniture and made a noise when you pulled the trigger. Don't remember the manufacturer.

It says,"Empire" on the right side, and the orange sticker says, "Johnny Tarheel Rapid Fire" on the left side. It has the words, "M-16 Automatic Rifle" molded into the side, as well. I've had this for years, and I don't remember where I got it... sorry, but not for sale. I tend to save anything AR or M-16 related, including those neat little G.I.Joe-type weapons. There is also a set of TINY M-16's for use with 1:35 scale soldier models. FITTER out
