And I don't mean that wannabe collapsable thing.

I'm trying to make this AR as light as possible.
Someone has to make a lighter stock.Any input or advice is appreciated.

The Choate 'Hook' style buttstock is probably your best bet to shed some weight -

Get a SP1 carbine (CAR-15) and put a new model M4 stock on it.  The rifle will tip the scales at around 7lbs.  My SP1 carbine is so damn light I forget it's there sometimes.

DPMS has a couple of lightweight stocks.
It says this is for preban only but maybe it could be made non-functional?
