Has anyone seen "momento" yet? If so, can you explain what the hell that movie was about? I though the end would explain it. I didnt get it.

It is a weird one, and it took me awhile to figure it out. Here's the deal: The guy is aware of his problem, which is short term memory loss. During the murder of the drug dealer who drove the Jaguar, the cop (guy with glass's) tells him the whole story of how he was using him to murder people. Perfect cover up to use a guy with STML. Before he forgets what the cop says, he writes himself a clue that leads him to killing the cop cause he knew he'd forget the confession; that the cop was using him....so he created another lead to follow in finding his wifes murderer. He makes a new clue pointing towards the cop. Aparently during the same scene that the cop spills the story to him, he tells him that the story of his wife being murdered is BS, and that he really injected her with to much insulin. If that were true, I still dont get how the "wife murdered" story got put into his head.....maybe thats how he dealt with it, then went to the cop for help, and later on the cop discovered how to use him. Thats my ininterpretation, and I'm stick'in to it! [:D]

I loved it, but it did make my brain hurt afterwards, you had to love that one scene where the original memory guy morphed into him. One of the most inovative movies of the decade.

The scenes are presented in reverse chronological order so the viewer experiences the same confusion that Leonard does. Here's a detailed explanation: http://www.salon.com/ent/movies/feature/2001/06/28/memento_analysis/

It was pretty clear to me. I think I have a higher comprehension level than others or something. I'm always explaining movies to friends. Anyhow, If you think about everything the Police Officer said, it all makes sense. He's the only person who isn't bullshitting him through the whole movie. It's a pathetic existance he's in because he is just stumbling through the rest of his life looking for this John G. because he probably has a lot of anger and doesn't know what to do with his life now that his wife is gone. At the end of the movie he makes his Police Officer the next John G that he will kill. Maybe I'm wrong but it makes sense to me.

I thought it was a great movie, something differant, had to think, and it helps if you watch it two or three times, I watched it twice, and may have to watch it a another, wacky flick, but good.
