Darkstar117's thread here got me thinking. His contest is running for another couple weeks. I don't like drawing things out. I'll run this for 24 hours from the time this thread is posted.
I have a bunch of coins I need to get to the bank. I didn't realize exactly how many I had until I started condensing them for the trip. I called ahead to the bank to verify there's not a counting fee. There isn't one as long as I have an account there, but the lady says that they "suggest" that I bring them in some sort of wide mouth container so they can pour easier. They don't like getting milk and water jugs I suppose. So, how's this for wide mouth? To enter the contest, just make a guess of what the total amount will be. Here's the possible prizes: Clockwise, starting top left: CRKT My Tighe, CRKT Snap Fire, CRKT Point Guard
Good Luck. I'll update the first post and thread title with winner's name. I will also send him an email and IM through the board to notify him. Winner must supply a shipping address. I will cover shipping costs. ETA: Time of this post is: 10/15/2007 2:16:35 PM CDT The contest ends Tuesday 10/16/2007 2:16:35 PM CDT. (If someone guesses the EXACT amount, I'll end it early since nobody could guess closer) CONTEST OVER: Total weight of the two cans was 85.5 lbs. It was assorted pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters. No half dollars or dollars. The cans (.50 cal) are 5 lbs. each for a total of 75.5 pounds There were a lot of pennies, as someone mentioned. The nice girl at the bank took about 10 minutes to count it all. She told me it filled up one $50.00 bag of pennies at the bank, then she started another. Grand total was… $638.04 Congrats to EDMHUNTER. His guess of $638.57 was the closest at 53¢ off. (IM me your address and I’ll ship tomorrow) The closest guesses: $0.53 over $638.57 pg 9 EDMHUNTER $0.75 under $637.29 pg 13 Carter226 $4.30 over $642.34 pg 15 Guardian855 $4.34 over $642.38 pg 5 Unjust $5.31 over $643.35 pg 1 vrwc0915 Thanks for everyone who participated. I like doing things like this on the board... it keeps things fun. |
