Bushmaster has better parts. I'm no expert, but it seems that DPMS stuf is made to looser tolerances, and the fit is not as tight as comparable Bushmaster parts.

I call bullshit. They regularly buy parts from each other. They are all mil-spec.

Bushmaster is not better than DPMS. If anything, I'd give the edge to DPMS as far as tolerances and parts quality. I've seen a number of Bushy rifles that had feeding/extraction problems that went away after swapping out the bolt for a DPMS.

Just got parts kit for a lower, parts were fine. DPMS is mil spec, and costs less than BM.

I have a DPMS low pro and it doesnt work for shit...jams jams jams...bought it new from dpms and have had nothing but problems with it...would not recommend it at all! [-=(_)=-]

All mass-produced rifles made during the period just prior to and following the Y2K rush are suspect. In fact, Bushy was coughing out hundreds of rifles with improperly torqued barrels at that time. But DPMS is quality and they use quality parts. Now, if you want a mil-spec rifle with a chrome-lined bore and 5.56 chamber, go Bushy because DPMS (at least around Y2K) was using .223 chambers and non-chrome lined barrels. OTH, some say that gives you a more accurate rifle, which is probably true.
