But I didn't know there were only 3 "legitimate" reasons in WA to obtain CWP?

Those are pretty darn broad. Here in California there are three too: "I'm related a cop, a judge, or politician"

In Washington there is no need nor requirement to give any reason why you want a CPL.

If anyone actully gets asked to supply a reason you can unleash the twin dogs of Joe Waldron and Dave Workman on their soon to be sorry butt.

We hashed this around on the WA-CCW email list today.

Here in Contra Costa County, the only way to get a CCW was to contribute to the Sheriff's re-election fund.

Woody is right. There was no question asking for a 'reason' on the application I filled out and the deputy never asked.

Not always true, I got mine right on my 22 birthday. As did my best friend and my father got his 2 months before me. Its not so much as who you know and who you are, as it where you live in Cali

For a long in Orange County, Calif.(home of Disneyland & Knott's Berry Farm etc) if you contributed to the then sheriff Brad Gates' re-election campaign you would get a CCW. But thank goodness that fellow is replaced by a pro-ccw guy, I forget his name at the moment.

For a while I think the sheriff out in Bethel Island was handing out CCW's, but the leftists made him stop.
