Sonuvabitch" part? That was the first thing I ever saw from this show I always prefer dub over sub Why does every character in anime appear older than their character is supposed to be? Like Okabe is supposed to be around 20; yet he seems more late 20s early 30s. Then the genius science chick is still a teenager. y u do dis Japan? |

Enjoying (so far) the GGO arc. It was hilarious how he got turned into a girl and all the guys started hitting on him. Also, GGO seems like the kind of game AR15'ers would go nuts for.

View Quote He didn't turn into a girl. The book explained it a bit better than the anime did. The GGO world has player character types. When you create a new account, your player character type is chosen at random. You are then stuck with that player character type, or you create another new account (pay another registration fee) and take another chance at getting a character you like. Another option is to buy an existing account, with a player character type that you like. This leads to people that have set up an unofficial online business buying an selling GGO accounts. A newbie might get lucky and get a rare player character type, sell it to a broker (they tend to hang around the points where new characters appear in the world, waiting for accounts that they might be able to make a profit off of), then take the money and create a new account (with another randomly selected player character type), using the surplus money to buy better gear. A thin, petite player character type with long black hair, that is a girl, is kinda rare. A newbie girl player could sell that account and get some decent gear with her next account. A thin, petite, very feminine player character type with long black hair, that is actually a guy, is extremely rare. It's quite a find, for a broker, and they can sell it at a huge price to certain buyers, so they are willing to offer ridiculous amounts of money to a newbie that somehow happened to get such a rare player character type. Kirito's first exposure to the GGO world, was having strange men approach him (thinking he was a girl) offering money to him. After explaining to them that he is actually a guy, the strange men then got all excited and started offering him much more money. |

I've been binge-watching Kill la Kill.
It got off to a slow start, and in the beginning I felt that it was pretty ridiculous, story-wise and art-wise. I'm not through all of it yet, but I'm up to episode 22 and I'm really glad that I stayed with it. The last 5 or 6 episodes have been intense, with amazing visuals and action and storyline too... |

I never got into any of the serialized anime, besides Dragon Ball Z. I probably would like some of it if I put forth the effort. Growing up, my cousin was a major weeabo, I remember watching some Inuyasha with her and it wasn't too bad.
I have thoroughly enjoyed all of the Studio Ghibli productions that I have seen. Princess Mononoke being a particular favorite. |
