I've got an "H" buffer inside my Colt Telestock and there is something loose inside it. When I shake or tilt the buffer from front to back there is something, that feels fairly heavy, sliding around in there. What is it? Is this normal? The stock is fairly new, but I don't remember it making this sound before! -Red-

Yup. It belongs there. Sliding weight inside the buffer acts like a "dead blow" hammer. Reduces rebound. All is well.

I've been told also it serves as kind of a last-ditch effort at slamming the bolt and cartridge into battery, if everything is not locked up when the buffer finishes it's forward travel, the weight slamming forward might help?

What is banging around inside my buffer?
