It is my understanding that the M4 14.5" barrels have chromed chambers and bores, the 16" barrels have chromed chambers only.

Are you sure about that?Mine appears to be chrome lined.

MilSpec requires M4 14.5" and M16 20" barrels to be chromelined. Since Colt is the only mfg. to have the M4 carbine contract for the US government, yes they are chromelined.
Other mfg that manufacture Chromelined barrels for all their weapons except their DCM/servicerifle weapons is Bushmaster. |
