I really miss the old guy and i happened to have American Experience's Reagan documentary on VHS and it made me really miss Ronny and papa Bush. Kinda brought tears to my eyes. I hear he's still hanging in there despite the Alzheimer's disease, God Bless him.

As far as I am concerned, he is up there with Teddy R. as one of the top 2 or 3 greatest presidents the US ever had. I was in the Army when he was elected. The difference was like day and night over Karter. I really respect and miss his leadership. Dutch Reagan, a truly great American.

My favorite!

I'm surely glad that President Reagan is unaware of the tragedy that has befallen our Country! How would he have reacted had this tragedy occurred on his watch, as he was so fond of saying? Remember the Marine Barracks fiasco in Beirut, Lebanon? And his meeting with the families to attend to the return of the Marines caskets? What a man! What a President! But George W. Bush is looking pretty good too! Let's see if he can be Reaganesque! Eric The(ThoseWhomTheGodsWouldDestroy,TheyFirstMakeMad!)Hun[>]:)]

He was a great president and in retrospect he was a man for the times. His presidency is the reason for USA's strengths, IMHO. He also got the same abhorrent abuse by the radical socialist news media that President Bush was receiving up until last week. Reagan was a conservative to the core and never wavered in his convictions. IMHO, if President Bush would follow Reagan's example in all things he will find similar successes. If Reagan wasn't ill the world would be a much better place. Can you imagine what Clinton would look like if the Reagan of the 80's had a chance at him? The socialist news media called former President Reagan "the Great Communicator".

He probably would have sent Al Haig out solo to get Bin Laden.

I miss POTUS Reagan as much as I detest POS Clinton. Reagan made you feel good that you were an American. Clinton tried to make you ashamed of the same fact. I'm seeing the same thing about Bush that I saw about Reagan. A lot of people are too. Even Democrats, but we'll see how long that lasts.

I agree, I think Reagen was most likley the greastest president of the 20th century. I think of dubya as 'diet' Reagen. Tax cuts, but not as massive. Missile defense, but not as complete. [rail]

Yes, I miss Reagan. I was proud to vote for him. I know one thing for sure. He would have at least bombed Kaddahfi by now, guilty or not. That guy was Ronnies bitch boy in the middle east. You haven't heard shit out of him since the smart bombs landed literally in his back yard.

Which he signed as a compromise for the passage of the 'Firearms Owners Protection Act' of 1986. Prior to the signing, the Washington Post reported that "the outcome gave the National Rifle Association and bill's main sponsors, Sen. James A. McClure (R-Idaho) and Rep. Harold L. Volkmer (D-Mo.), most of what they wanted in their 18-year effort to ease federal restrictions on gun owners and gun dealers." Go see the full story of what President Reagan was facing in this battle! The story is at: http://www.vpc.org/studies/tupone.htm Don't forget this article is from the Violence Prevention Center, a liberal pro-gun control group! In my opinion, he should be the fifth face on Mt. Rushmore. I'm proud to say that the first time I got to vote, it was for him, and happily, his legacy is alive and well on 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. God Bless him, and his family. Best to all, and Semper Fi. Arq12

Ronald "well, I can't remember" Reagan, no don't miss him at all. He should have been impeached for trading arms for hostages. Now, don't get me started.

No, I'm not. Reagan did many good things. But arming our mortal enemy, an enemy that carries signs that read "death to America", was enough to turn my stomach. Unfortunately, he'll be remembered as a "great president" and his arms for hostages deal will be swept under the carpet and forgotten. And when he was being questioned on video tape, how many times did he say "I can't remember". Don't forget he was an actor. He didn't have a script when he was being questioned. So if you need a "hero" in your life, go ahead and pick Ronnie. I really don't give a shit.

I don't recall reagan being asked that question. Just cause I don't worship reagan like you do, doesn't mean I worship klinton. You must be young. So your saying its o.k. to arm our mortal enemies, trade arms for hostages, after you've already told the American public "it is our policy never to negoitiate with terrorists"? Well, there you go again.

You wouldn't be so pious if you or one of your loved ones were a hostage. International politics/diplomacy can be a very unpleasant business. Our govt. deals with unsavory types all the time to achieve the goals that it deems important. The Reagan administration took great risks and many of them destroyed their careers and reputations to get our people home. In that case I feel the end justified the means.
