Went shooting this morning, zeroed my LEGP, got into an impromptu bowling pin match with my Para against another shooter at the range and kicked ass! Then stopped at the grocery store on the way home and spent about $150 into our slow economy. Spent the afternoon watching football, Nascar, and Foxnews while cleaning guns on the coffee table. Sometimes being a bachelor rules!

I went to the hardware store to get stared at.

Then for a couple hours I stood on the corner and pressed the "push to cross" button on the signal light pole.

I went to go shooting with my brother-in-law at the Collin County Shooting Range. Much to our surprise and our disgust it was closed. The McKinney,TX city council has been trying to shut them down in a big legal battle for years. The owner has dumped thousands in the fight, has invested hundreds of thousands in the range, the NRA is also helping the fight. If this one closes many more could be next b/c of the legality. LEO's even use the range. The range was forced by the city council to be closed on Sundays and reduce their hours. It's BS in my eyes. Sunday is their busiest day it most likely shut them down, especially with our slow economy. I had just gotten a membership there too. Most of the ranges I know you can't shoot FMJ and aren't as nice. So we ended up going to the Garland Public Shooting Range. I tried out my Harris Bipod (benchrest) and I really enjoyed it. [50]Blasted away at a picture of Osama which was extremely hard to hit at 100yds b/c it was dark.[devil] Also tried shooting left handed, didn't do as crappy as I thought I would. Sorry, had to vent a little. It just makes me mad to see our 2nd Amendment rights slipping farther and farther from us.[soapbox] If anyone knows of a range in Collin County, TX or in the Plano, TX area that allows FMJ and has at least 100yds please let me know. I've heard of the Winchester range in North Dallas north of 635 but don't know anything about it.

I went to Claverton Shooting range on eastern LI. Saw a guy shooting a semi auto barrett 50. I was about 20 feet away shooting a rem 700 .223 and you could feel the shockwaves from the .50 go through your body. It's only a 200 yard range, too.

worked today, blew $125.00 on a gift for my kid's 6th birthday (gameboy advance + 1 game), got home, surprised him, cried some listening to lee greenwood singing THAT song, scratched my head since i couldnt understand the other prayers being spoken, scratched myself, talked to my active duty navy buddies on the landline (those that havent deployed yet), said a silent prayer for them (im retired, but my heart deploys with my friends still), and another silent prayer for VICTORY in this "war" we are about to be part of........

Very good pic post, GS - thank you.

Lethal - I've HEARD that Winchester is not too SUR friendly, but I've never been there.  As for other 100 yd fmj ranges in Collin County, you're sol.  Come to the shoot in Glen Rose on OCT 5, 6, 7 - info in the events forum - a REAL good time.

Spent the morning practicing my prone shooting, a practical shooting stance instead of my regular lazy ass bench shooting.  I also spent time teaching a potential future soldier how to shoot.

Did anyone else notice the article under the picture?  It talks about the civilian defense army...interesting.

Flew my hangglider.  This is the first weekend since WTC that we haven't been grounded.  Sure was nice to see God's green earth again from 5,000 feet.  Said a prayer while I was at cloud base for all the lost souls. It was cool and quiet and the sun was going down behind Grandfather mountain and I'm sure my prayers were heard. Fitting end to a tough week.....
