70's Broncs are cool.

I prefer the larger 70's Blazer. Plus Chevy parts are less expensive.

I'm not much of a Mopar fan, Hemi Darts are cool tho.

beanbagger, you can answer your own question by going into the town of your choosing, and counting how many early fords are on the road versus how many jeeps there are. [:D]

For off roading-JEEP

For soccer moms-FORD

I've had one of each- a wrangler, cherokee, and grand cherokee. I've driven an explorer and excursion. For an "all purpose" SUV that can handle a highway trip or offraod-get a Grand Cherokee.

I thought this thread was about early 70's vehicles, not SUVs, Wranglers or Grand Cherokees!  There were no such things as "soccer moms" or "sport utility vehicles" back in the good old days!  I'll take the early Ford Bronco any day.  I have a 1971 Sport Bronco, 5" lift and limited slip front-and-rear.  Will go most anywhere and has a short turning radius for getting around in the woods.

Jeep baby... They don't call difficult trails "Jeep trails" for nothing!  If you doubt this, head out to one of the many Off Road parks around the country and see how many Jeep are out there.  They totally dominate.

Both are good.  Good condition Broncos are harder to find and more expensive.  Jeeps are cheaper (generally), and can be tricked out more.  Both are very tough, but I prefer the Jeep.

My grandpa still has his '77 Bronco and it is in great shape.  He will never sell, and has gotten offers for $15,000 cash.

Who said that 70's Ford Broncos are for Soccer moms?  Obviously someone who has never driven one.

Those early Landcruisers are also great.  My cousin had a tricked out '75 I think.

As to your point, Landcruisers are American style, and driven with American power no matter how you slice it.  I don't see them much anymore, but they aren't better than Jeeps.  Sorry.

Tough to say.  EB gives you carrying capacity.  Jeep has the wheelbase/width advantage, off-road.
