Quoted: DONE !!!![-!-] anyone have a list of who the sponsors are ??? View Quote Well they DONT include Sears or Federal Express now, they cancelled their sponsorship immediately this morning. |
|
Quoted: Why? What did he say? View Quote On Monday, he commented that the terrorist act was not cowardly BUT... ..the U.S. lobbing cruise missiles from safety was. trickshot, At least people are complaining to sponsers instead of complaining to the network. It is the only way to hurt them - especially now that they have forfeited so much ad revenue. |

Done. #277....... Forwarding the link to others. Should this one maybe be tacked up???

http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?id=53062 Quoted: Dinesh: Bill, there's another piece of political correctness I want to mention. And, although I think Bush has been doing a great job, one of the themes we hear constantly is that the people who did this are cowards. Bill: Not true. Dinesh: Not true. Look at what they did. First of all, you have a whole bunch of guys who are willing to give their life. None of 'em backed out. All of them slammed themselves into pieces of concrete. Bill: Exactly. Dinesh: These are warriors. And we have to realize that the principles of our way of life are in conflict with people in the world. And so -- I mean, I'm all for understanding the sociological causes of this, but we should not blame the victim. Americans shouldn't blame themselves because other people want to bomb them. Bill: But also, we should -- we have been the cowards lobbing cruise missiles from 2,000 miles away. That's cowardly. Staying in the airplane when it hits the building, say what you want about it, it's not cowardly. You're right. View Quote |

Boycotts are fine and do manage to send a message. But, does/would this mean that we're against freedom of speech even though we may not agree with what's being said?

Man I hate that Maher!
I watched part of his show tonight (too lazy to get the remote) and in less than one minute he both called himself a libertarian AND said all airport security should be federalized. Now THAT makes sense! [rolleyes] Though honestly, I think it's 100% BS to call the terrorists cowards myself. Evil, yes. Crazy, yes. Heartless, yes. Cowards, no. Same thing with that fat-ass Clinton calling McVeigh a coward. |

Quoted: Boycotts are fine and do manage to send a message. But, does/would this mean that we're against freedom of speech even though we may not agree with what's being said? W View Quote Freedom of speech also includes a bunch of people saying, “We don’t like what this moron is saying, and we are prepared to put pressure on those who support them!” 595 |

Debate and freespeach are at the heart of democracy
you assholes shouldn't be petitioning to have him thrown off the air. Shit. what a bunch of fucking mongoloids |
|
This f*cking mongoloid just became signer #651.
He can say what he wants. We don't have to like it. But we also have the right to let his sponsors know we don't like what they are paying him to say. |

Quoted: Debate and freespeach are at the heart of democracy you assholes shouldn't be petitioning to have him thrown off the air. Shit. what a bunch of fucking mongoloids View Quote Hey - name calling is for junior high'ers. We (or at least I) am not petitioning the gov't to censor him, which is in reality the ONLY application of the first Amendment as it applies here. I am using my freedoms to inform those who would advertise on his program that they stand to lose my revenues IF they continue to support HIS abuses of the First Amendment. LIES are NOT protected by the First amendment. And that is what he did - he lied, and falsely accused. And THAT sir, IS the HEART of democracy. You knot head [}:D] |

Quoted: Debate and freespeach are at the heart of democracy you assholes shouldn't be petitioning to have him thrown off the air. Shit. what a bunch of fucking mongoloids View Quote And what about freedom? Mahr has the right to say what he wants, and I'll give my life defending that right for him and everyone else. But that also gives me the right to tell companies and corporations that sponsor that show that I will not give them my money. The petition is to let everyone who actively advertises during that show that they are going to lose money because it's perceived as an endorsement of his bullsh*t. He can say whatever he wants, but that doesn't mean someone has to provide him a soapbox upon which to spread his crap. God Bless Texas |

It's working! I saw Maher talking on Fox with Bill O'Reilly and he looked pretty shaken up.
He said 2 sponsors had already dropped his show. He was backpedaling, saying he loved our military and would never badmouth them. He seemed shocked by the backlash from his stupid comments. What a crock, this guy is running scared. Good job to all involved. |
