I've seen this acronym used but I'm not sure what is stands for. I think is a group in the Marines but I'm not sure. Anyone care to enlighten me?

SOTG is the Special Operations Training Group. They are responsible for the training provided to Marine Expeditionary Units to make them Special Operations Capable. I'm sure that without me going into any detail, you can imagine some of the types of missions that a Special Operations Capable unit would be called on to accomplish. Think "Captain Scott O'Grady, USAF." The acronym MEU(SOC) will probably be seen quite often in the near future, I would imagine.
