Does anyone know of a source for a tritium front sight blade for a Mossberg 690?

Submariner,

There are plenty of em around.  Does yours have the ghost rings, or plain bead?  I know you aren't gonna beleive this, but I just bought a brand new screw in Meprolight tritium sight bead less than an hour ago in an auction for $20.  I can't seem to locate a factory page for Meprolight.

Try these for a starter, and let me know what you decide.

Cope, I have one of these Meprolight beads.  It comes threaded for a Remington barrel so you'll need to retap the threads in the barrel.  I think the specifics about the threads were included on a little insert sheet in the packaging.

A.O. Sights (formerly Ashley Outdoors prior to a messy buy out) makes a tritium big dot front bead sight for some Mossbergs.  I do not have one, but have AO sights on several other firearms and HIGHLY RECOMMEND them.

Whoa!  Wait a minute.  I highly recommend Hi-viz or Truglo.  They are cheap, easy to replace, you can change colors, and if there is ANY ambient light, ie enough for sufficient target identification, they will shine brighter than the background.  They snap on if you do not have a vent. rib.  I have one on my 500USA and love it.  Besides, it looks kinda cool.

Now if your problem is a total power failure in the pitch dark of a submarine...then maybe trij is the thing!

Whoops.  I'm an idiot.  I bet you have the 50668 that comes with ghost rings and a blade already installed.  If so, Never mind!

If you have the 50665 with the plain barrel, than I'd go with Tru-glo.

Won't let me edit.

Ignore that link as it is missing a character.

The correct link is:

I should know this afternoon if will work or not.  I'm kinda reluctant to retap the barrel, so I may be putting this thing up for sale if it doesn't work out. Could anyone use this bead on their Remington?  Sometimes ya win, sometimes you go to plan B.

Thanks for the info.
