I received a gift from a friend from Japan.
He gave me a Alcohol Sensor that tells how intoxacated you are.
Strange gift i know, I don't drink that much, and I don't need a sensor to tell how drunketh I are.

Problem is it reads in MG/L.
I know the DWI is set at .08% BAC then your off the the pokey.
What is .08% BAC converted to mg/l?
thanks

Show Deej the conversion chart then have him follow you around every time you go drinking.

There is a factor of 10,000 between percent and ppm

(100% = 1,000,000 ppm, obviously)

0.08% x 10,000 is 800ppm

then how to get 800 PPM to MG/L?

Do the opposite.

Divide 800 ppm by 10,000 ppm/% to get 0.08 %

mg/L is milligrams per liter, assuming alcohol has the same density as water (which it doesn't) there are 1000000mg of water per liter. If .08% of it is alcohol that is .0008*1000000mg/L, or 800mg/L, which the poster above listed as 800 parts per million. There are one million "parts" in each liter, so blah blah blah.

Just get the molecular weight of Ethyl Alcohol, which is C2H5OH to calculate its density.

You can't calculate density from the molecular weight.

Density is a weight per volume calculation. Molecular weight has nothing to do with it.
