http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/commentary/la-091301cockburn.story Notice no mention of loss of civil rights for Japanese Americans when mentioning Pearl Harbor, but rather the usual "We have too much freedom" crapolas. Bush timid in not flying straight back to DC? Sure, why not lose our president along with Pentagon and WTC? How's the title of this article for irony, eh?

One has to admire the subtleties of this article. While Cockburn (must've had a fun childhood) rails against loss of rights and intrusive government, he's actually hinting them to the knee-jerkers out there, as we've already heard people willing to give up some of their rights for security. National ID? Government keeping files on you? Gimme gimme! What better time than right now? Expulsion without due process under Clinton? If he's still in office, this would have never happened, right?
