...given him a terrible resolve."

The words of Admiral Yamamoto after the Pearl
Harbor attack.

To those who started a war with the United
States of America yesterday:  You have terribly
misjudged the will of the American people. We
will mourn the loss of our fallen brethren,
we will clean up the debris from your cowardly
attack, and we will hunt your worthless asses
down and convert them to ashes.

You have not scared us, you have angered us.

You have not shown the world anything, but you
have given us cause to come together on common
ground with a single goal.  We have never been
defeated in any conflict when worked together
as a nation.  You have restored our unity.

We are preparing our own special hell for you,
which you will receive in due time.  I pray
that it is soon..........

God help us. I hope you're right.
We've given no reason for them to believe so in the past.

The better quote is what Bull Halsey said the next day.

"We will make Japanesse a language only spoken in HELL."

I am as angry as any American right now, and I do want to see justice (and BLOOD at that).

However, let us not forget that even with Japan, it took 4 years before we dropped The Bomb on them.

Now more than ever our nation is one of instant gratification, and I fear that we will become frustrated in the length of time it will take to seek justice...as well as the fact that the American people will forget this trajedy within a year or so.

Let us support our President, Congress, Military, and Nation not just today but in the years to follow to show our resolve that Freedom will not be attacked nor thwarted by the likes of petty terrorists.

"All we have done is waken a sleeping giant, and given him a terrible resolve."

That has always been one of my favorite quotes.  The Japanese people learned the hard way how true their Admiral Yamamoto's words were.
