I  just  found  out about  the  DCM  Bushmaster
deal. How  much  of  the  cost  does   the CMP/DCM  cover? What  does  it  end  up  costing  out  of  pocket?I  have  already  qualified  but  I  never  ordered  one  of  those  Garands(I  already  had  a  good  one)but  I  sure  as  hell  won't pass  up a  Bushy  match  rifle(with  Uncle  Sam  picking  up  part  of  the  tab)!Let  me  know  what's  up  with  the  CMP  Bushmasters  please.

Thanks

Mine cost about 2000.00, I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet.
I did notice it's a lot weighs a lot more than a standard Bushy.

Did   you  buy  it  outright  or  is  it  your  DCM  weapon(ie  government  subsidized).

Last I heard my dealer told me that the CMP price was around 1000 dollars.  The normal retail price I think is in the 1400 dollar range.

I'm  getting  one  if  the  DCM  price is  only  $1000.

Sopmodm4:

I haven't fired one yet, but at a match last weekend, the guy next to me was using one.  I believe he said it was just under $900, delivered.  I have seen these rifles shoot very well and earn high master scores for their owners.

Remember that your club has to have a junior program in order for you to get one.

Go to www.odcmp.com under rifle sales and you can find the information there.

The DCM Bushmaster rifle cost $865. No more no less if you purchase it through your club owner.

He must have a junior rifle program in place and can only purchase so many per year. There may be one more thing he has to comply with I cant remember. Check the www.odcmp.com and click programs. All the info is there.

I would check there first and not buy one somewhere else until then.

As far as how they shoot.....great. I have shot mine very well since early last year and have yet to out shoot it.

You can also get other versions of the CMP rifle in a different brand i.e. CLE

I'm  not  a  junior  anymore.I  qualified  for  my  DCM  weapon  back  in  91.I  have  not shot  matches  since  93  do  I  need  to  requalify  or  can  I  have  my  old  club  process the  paperwork  for  my  DCM  weapon?

sopmodm4, I qualified last month and was told that the qualification is good for 5 years.  You also have to be a member in an active CMP club.
