Just got this info:
09/06/01 11:00 A.M.
Subject: SB626 (Perata)
Position: OPPOSE
Situation: In a last minute drill to pass some of the most onerous provisions of his derailed bill, SB682, Senator Perata has inserted them into SB626. SB626 was designed to provide "clean-up language"
relating to the notorious semi-auto ban, SB23.
If SB626 is allowed to pass in its current form, it would allow local city attorneys to obtain personal information regarding firearms purchases for use in civil lawsuits.
Immediate Action Required: Contact the legislature and ask them to oppose SB626. Phone and fax numbers for the legislators' district and capitol offices can be found at:
http://www.nramemberscouncils.com/legs.shtml . PLEASE CALL ASAP! ! !
To send a single Email to the entire Senate or Assembly, go to: http://www.nramemberscouncils.com/legs.shtml . With the tools available on this website, you can contact the entire state legislature with two
Emails.
Note: Emails will be received in the legislators offices with the "From:" field set to the ORIGINAL SENDER. Remember that you are sending a single Email to several people. You should
address your message accordingly. Example: Dear Assembly Member, or Dear Senator, . (Legislators will not know that they are receiving the same message as the others.)
Also listed on the CA Legislative Contact Page is local district office contact information, including fax numbers. Please make phone calls and send faxes, after you have sent the Emails.
Go to: http://www.nramemberscouncils.com/legs.shtml for a complete listing.
Note: Many of you, that receive these CAL-ERTs have been repeatedly contacting your representatives. It is a thankless but necessary task and it takes time from your busy day. We recognize these
facts and appreciate your efforts.
It is the pressure that you and fellow firearms owners apply to the legislature, that gives NRA its power and influence. THANK YOU for your efforts. Together, we can stop the anti-freedom forces and win
back our rights.
