I could not find the poll. By your figures, the one who is most responsible, if any person is, has the lowest vote total, Greenspan. Clinton is not far behind. I believe this blaming or crediting any president for the economy is bogus. We have an anonymous feature in our paper called Vox Populi where some idiot expressed the view that it was all W's fault. Here is the non-anonymous letter I sent to the paper in response. In the Monday, August 27 Vox Populi, there was this little jewel: "Only eight months in and our economy is at a nine year low. Thanks, W. Bush supporters" First, it's only been seven months, you mathematical genius. I am neither a Democrat nor a Republican, but the aforementioned statement is truly astounding. These same people give Clinton credit for the economy being good for the last nine years. I have also noticed that statements like this tend to be in Vox Populi where one can remain anonymous and not let everyone know that one has lost control of any faculties that one may have ever had. I would like one of these hysterical fools that make these and other statements to prove it. Tell me ONE thing that Clinton did to make the economy good and ONE thing George W. Bush has done to make it bad. Just ONE of each, that's all. I don't mean hysterical rantings that are apparently the norm with this group on every issue, with so called facts and figures being made up as they go. A perfect example is Handgun Control, another Clintonista group, who make their own homicide figures to forward their cause. They have been caught in lies, have admitted it, and have said that lies are perfectly okay as long as they get what they want, a repeal of the Second Amendment. I would like to know how a group of people who have supported a man who has no character, no integrity, and is a draft dodging coward have the nerve to criticize anyone at all!! I am not using the word moral because that has religious connotations and is subjective, but character and integrity are objective and leave no room for interpretation, even though their hero will argue over the meaning of any word. The economy started taking a downturn last year while your boy Bill was still in office, so if you are going to give credit or blame to any president for the economy, then you better go back to last year and check out your hero. Actually, no president has much to do with the economy. More than anyone, it is Greenspan. Last year he started raising interest rates to slow down the economy due to supposed inflation fears. Well, it worked, Alan. It has slowed down. If any one person is to blame, it is Greenspan, but a lot of it is e-commerce companies that had lots of money thrown at them with no business plan and when they started failing, the stock market went down the tubes. Before you Clinton lovers start your fanatical rantings, please check your facts. Unlike the Clinton supporters, I am not being anonymous about this. View Quote
