Ok, how about some bragging here about how accurate your AR15 is and about how great of a shooter you are.

List the following - how accurate it shoots at 100 yards,  type of rifle, ammo used, scope/optic/sights used,  fired off a bench/prone, conditions

My Bushy Vmatch Carbine shot a 1.0625 moa 5 round group last Sunday at 100 yards.  It was at about 85 degrees, 5mph rear quartering wind, 1200 ft above sea level, 10% humidity

Ammo was Lake City 55 gr ball which is supposed to travel at about 3100 out of the 16" tube. I was shooting off a bench using my range bag as a front rest and my fist as the rear rest.

The rifle has a Leupold 1.5-5X20 Vari X III scope mounted on it via QRW rings, and a GG&G Scout length rail.

It took me 3 groups at 100 yards to get it that good.  I think I could do better if I had some sand bags and a better trigger.  Eyes got tired after that so I quit.

My best is 5/16" with my Armalite M14A4.  Armalite one piece mount.  Leopold VariX2 4.5-14.  55grn. V-Max and Varget.  My recepie. Sandbaged, little wind.

Sub 1/2 MOA @ 200, 300, & 600 yds.
69gr, 77gr, 80gr, SMKs.
Iron sights, off the shoulder. Standing, sitting, prone.

I'll bite. Home built ASA lower with 20" Wilson Bullbarrel and 4-12-44 Simmons scope.  Shooting from bench with hand loads I put 5 rounds @ 100 yards that I was able to fully cover with a penny, but it took me awhile.  On the same day I won a bet when I placed my first shoot right thru the center of a quarter, also at 100 yards.[:D]

And yes, I am rather proud of that.

I just got rid of a Colt Govt Carbine, couldn't hit the side of a barn with that piece of junk. Going to get a Bushy, hope it is better.

Best average I've got for my customized AR15 shooting what I consider at this moment to be my best handload(still a pretty sad sight of mixed brass) is right around 3/4inch after calculating the results of firing four 10 shot groups.   Within each of the 10 shot groups there would be 6-7 shots that went through 1/2 inch or less and the remaining 3-4 shots would push the group open to 3/4 inch.   I really gotta start processing my brass and tuning loads that one would consider to be of decent quality, typically I run a mixture of brass and just shoot it all, on the day I was doing those 10 shot groups I used Remington, Winchester, PMC, and even some S&B brass.   The bullet was a 40grn Vmax sitting on top a fairly warm charge of AA2015.



Then there's my box stock AR10 A4 and with my best handload for it I usually can get down around 1MOA for 5 shots, I haven't pushed for 10 shot groups with it yet.  The AR10 really loves Nosler 165grn Balistic Tips when sitting on top of around 38grains of H322.



Scopes?   On the AR15 I've got a Leupold 6.5-20 Long Range and it's a wonderful scope for target shooting and varmint shooting.   On the AR10 A4 I've got a 6-24x Bausch&Lomb Elite 4000 that I consider to be a fair scope but I hate it's windage and elevation knobs and I don't like adjustable objective rings because the Leupold side parallax adjustment knob has spoiled me for life.

off the shelf armalite m15 a2 shoots under 1' at 100 with scope and bipod up to 2 at 200.

my m4 is absolutely as accurate as i can shoot it at any given time!

Funny    I built a target rifle, DCM rifle. I have never shot it at paper for a group.

I do shoot the crap out of a coffee can @100 yards off hand. I like to hit it while its still moving. I cant groupe with it on paper for shit though. Paper isn't any fun to shoot.

Quit shooting at known distances. Try getting off the bags. There are no bags in the bushes boys.

ok. my m4 will hold about an inch with a good scope at 100 yds. 3 shot group. average is about 3" overall. not bad for a 14 1/2" barrel. however, ahem, my sharps 45-110 long range express with a brooks 554 g. cast bullet, 97 grains fg black powder, will shoot into 7/8" at 100 yds. allways, iron sights. i know that this has absolutely nothing to do with the ar's, but i just had to tell someone! har!

5 shots at 100 yards is poo-poo. Try 20 at 600 yards, iron sights. The 10-ring is 12". My best is a 198-9X. I've seen Tippie shoot 20 rounds into about a 2" group at 200 yards, in two strings of 10 shots, both fired in less than 60 seconds, with a mag change, from sitting position using iron sights. A 200-19X. Hooah!! [:D]

PS at 200 the 10 ring is 7", the X is 3". Benchrest groups at 100 don't tell you anything about the rifle. Move out to 300, y'all! No flame.

Mine is a Bushmaster lower/FN upper built by Fulton Armory.  It has a 16" Douglas bull barrel, a Jewell trigger, Harris bipod, and a Leupold 3.5-10X scope.  

Off the bench (bipod up front, sandbag under the butt) using South African 55 grain fodder I got from Sportsman's Guide, it shoots about 10" groups at 100 yards.

Using my handloads (Nosler 55 grain BT, LC brass, BL(C)-2 powder, CCI BR4 primers) it consistently puts ten rounds into a group I can [i]cover[/i] with a quarter.  That's 0.95" - 0.224" = 0.726" (call it 3/4 MOA).  It does the same with Ultramax commercial reloads using the same bullet.  It is easily the most accurate rifle I own.

That's in Tucson, about 3000', HOT, no wind (<=5mph) low humidity.

I haven't had it very long.  Next I want to see what it will do at 300+ yards.  We have a "prarie-dog silhouette" match every other month at my range, and the longest shots are 385 meters.  I've GOT to try that!

Never had a scope on my Bushmaster 20", so I do not know what type of extreme accuracy it's capable of. But, at 200m, it will hit a coffee can almost every time. Good enough for my needs.

My M15A2 has been known to shoot a .224 inch one shot group at a number of distances.
