Motorboats Banned from McCovey Cove
By KPIX - The PIXPage Staff
You could say they've leveled the playing field out in McCovey Cove.
The San Francisco Port Commission has voted unanimously to ban motorboats in the water outside of Pacific Bell Park's right-field fence.
McCovey Cove is the landing spot for many of Barry Bonds' homerun baseballs, as he chases the single-season homerun record. During games, watercraft big and small swarm there, trying to catch one of the historic balls.
The Port Commission says its vote should keep boaters safer during San Francisco Giants games
