Well, since this forum has turned into a free for all about anything at all...I bought a bunch of beef and have lots of scraps of fat left over, after I trimmed it..Do you heat beef fat to turn it into suet, the same way you just heat up pork fat and turn it into lard?

It already is suet. Suet is just hardened fat (cooled). Some people put it in bird feeders, but I grind it with venison to keep the meat from drying out when cooking burgers on the grill.
