Hopefully this isn't really happening.

From the TRT list:

"Dear Nadja,

I have done some research, and this is what I have discovered as of
this point:

The national leadership of the Second Amendment Sisters has changed.
It has been reported that the new president of the SAS has publicly
stated that she is not really all that interested in protecting the
Second Amendment, but that she has always dreamed of running a
multi-million dollar national organization.

Since the national leadership changed, not only has the California
leadership group left the SAS, several other states' leadership as
well as the original webmaster of SAS (national) have left the
organization, all of them lamenting that the new national leadership
group is untenable and more interested in developing a power base than
in protecting and restoring the Second Amendment.

I suggest that we all take a close, hard look at EVERY so-called
pro-2nd Amendment group we associate with so that we use our time and
hard-earned dollars to support only those who are effective, honest,
and truly interested in supporting OUR cause, not their thirst for
power.

Best regards,

   -  J.B."

Sounds kind of like what happened to the MMM.

Put on your tin foil beanies:

It could be an anti-gun conspiracy to divide and conquer.

These gals always seemed like a group of no nonsense women to me.  If this is true, then shortly this new "leadership" will more than likely find themselves leading nobody, to nowhere.

If they are organized as a Not for profit and for the 2nd amendment, they have tofulfill that obligation, not doing so violates their charterr and could break the law,

As an SAS associate member, I e-mailed them the contents of the original post and am awaiting their reply.  Personally, I don't believe it, as they have been the most active participants in facing the Million Moron Marchers.

I heard that the new leadership of the SAS was demanding social security numbers from the local chapter leadership to do background checks.  Needless to say, that annoyed many people who subsequently quit under protest.

Those people aren't giving up the fight, though.  They are forming a new organization called the "Liberty Belles."
