On my 39th Birtday, the Lads made a cake for me, right in the field, and what a surprise it was! Middle of Puckapunyal Range, full 'tac' ex, fucken cool spring October morning. It was chocolate, and tasted horrible, but that was the best cake, and best birthday I had since I was a kid.
We all had a piece, and made sure the rst of the Bty did too. Huddled all under a cam net, like starving depraived rats. Jesus, it was good! On my 40th, I was dumped by my girlfriend a few nights before. It was a Wednesday, just another day. A quiet night. I hated turning 40. I'll be 42 in October, and I am not looking forward to it. Life is too short. Time waits for no one. Enjoy your birthday, go to the range for a good shoot, have a root, a few beers, and have a good dinner! |
