I believe those are the Army's "Little Birds". I think they are an update of the old "loach" used as scouts in Vietnam. Mini guns and small rocket pods make them very nasty little helos.

Notice the two guys on the left with the 14.5"/16" barrels on their M16s, and the guy on the right with the 10.5"/11.5" barrel?  I thought the soldiers only had 10.5"/11.5" barrels, the Colt Commado style guns, and not the carbine style.  IIRC, the M4 was not around at that time.

And those are Little Birds.

What DRMark said.

There are quite a few of those birds at Fort Campbell, maintained and flown by the 160th SOAR (Special Operations Airborne Regiment) or the "Night Stalkers". They have a homepage somewhere...

Yes, those are MH-6s operated by 160th SOAR www.nightstalkers.com

They also had the AH-6s there, it is the attack version with a 7.62 minigun and rockets.

The M4 or other 14.5" carbines(like the Colt M653) were already around in special operations units in the U.S forces during the Gulf War.

Take look at this photo from Mike Horan´s site at http://www.megapass.co.kr/%7Ehoranjoh/

I hope they dont carry this non-professional/unsafe attitude to the screen (i can see already they're gonna f*ck "it" up).

IMHO, Hollywood always screws-up in their portrayal of soldiers for the two reasons:

1) the actors act unprofessionally; and
2) the actors try too hard to be military and behave as if the rest of military life is like the basic training environment.

I understand it's only a movie, and I dont mind that their uniforms look brand new with newly sewn-on patches and unfaded nametapes.  I dont mind that theyre using M4s when they didnt exist back then.  I dont mind that their LBVs look like they havent been in the field. I dont mind that they're using 2.5 Ton trucks instead of 5 Tons or that some of the HMMWVs used are distincly Marine HMMWVs with "snorkels."  Thats all just equipment, and equipment doesnt a professional U.S. Soldier make.

The thing that would make an actor convincing as a professional soldier would be some military bearing.  Without it they simply look like civilians in uniform.

Those are part of the Czech stunt team, not the actors themselves. On the Czech team´s page the pics originally appeared on the net.

Relax.  It's called having fun on the set.

The 160th flew the Little Birds for the movie and their reports back have been positive.  Some of the pilots were the guys who were there on Oct 3-4.

www.upcomingmovies.com said that the trailer will start airing in theaters around the 14th of August. Does anyone know where it will be/is available on the web?

My friend used to work on those fling-wings. Called them the "Killer Eggs". He showed me pictures from the Gulf of a "Killer Egg" making Swiss cheese out of an Iranian fast attack boat.

About to ask that question myself, I looked all over and couldn't find it.

I do recall someone here mentioning seeing the trailer when they saw Jurassic Park 3...

What i have read about the trailer at Cinemayhem´s BHD forum it is a "teaser" trailer and promises a hell of a movie. Just checked Upcoming Movies, They say on the 4th of July that a trailer will debut with FF. That being the teaser that has been spotted. Is there going to be a longer trailer since many say it was a "teaser". Not that well versed in US movie things.
