I'm looking at a STG and I have seen a few scope mounts for it. I was wondering what scope mount is best? Also what scope mount's do you want to stay away from.

I picked up a used ARMS for my DSA STG58A.  Took about an hour of stoning on the front of it to shorten it enough to close the action, BUT I took my time and it fits the contour of the upper receiver perfectly.  Returns to zero fine when reinstalled.

Second choice would have been the DSA one with the set screws.  Stay away from the stuff for  less than 50 bucks.  Most of it's Chinese and there are many reports of the screws stripping the threads in the mount.

I just put the DSA mount on my ARS STG/FAL and I could not be more pleased. Ultra solid, super easy to put on and looks great. I used the Leuplod Quick Release Weaver rings with a Leupold M8 2.5X Compact scope that I sent to Premier Reticles to have the V-X III turrents installed. I have a friend that had the Federal Arms unit that the screws that held it on tightened against the upper reciever itself, and would mar the finish. The DSA screws pull steel plates inward against the inside of the upper reciever and against the inside of the mount. This seems like a really nice way to do the job.

DSA mount is on sale NOW. I got mine last night and saved about thirty bucks (I think). Looks every bit as well made as my SA58 and should work well with the Eotech sight.

The DSA mount is a fine piece, but as with most tools, the intention of use should be considered.  For a general purpsoe mount, the DSA works well.  For accuracy though, the cantilever mount/free floating handguard that we make is the best.  All two piece stocked rifles (including the AR series) share  similiar problems.  Solving those accuracy problems is going to take similiar approaches.  Anyway, the best mount for extreme accuracy is our FAL handguard, cantilever mount.
