I was planning on joining more than one pro-2nd Amendment organization, such as, the NRA and the JPFO when I had a thought that is making me hesitate.
If the laws change, won't members of these groups be the first ones who will have the feds knocking on their doors to take their guns.  In other words; what kind of privacy is there in joining these groups and how easy is it for the feds to get lists of their members.  I really don't want the feds having any way of knowing that I'm a multiple gun owner...

Look... I didn't post the thread to start a bullshit SHTF senario thread... the fact of the matter is is that if the feds did come knocking on your door and "you fought back", the only place it would get you is on the 6 o'clock news and into a body bag.  Its easy to talk tough.  Realistically, I'm curious to know if the government has access to the member lists of these groups.  I want to join the groups not to have a "cool" shoot out with government agents, but to give money to the lobby so that they can maintain our rights on capital hill.

pretty damn easy I'd say, since everytime they want to send you a magazine or some stupid ugly hat or the weekly notes begging for money, they give the feds money and the item with your name on it and entrust them to deliver it to you.

Jesus fucking christ man, grow some balls. It's that kind of attitude that will get us nowhere!

If your that much of a sissyboy but want to do your part, you can always send anonymous money orders without a return address. Just make sure to wipe off any finger prints from the evelope, or wear plastic kitchen gloves.

I'm with Seamus.  Grow some balls.  The point is to make the pro-Second groups a political 500 lb gorrilla so the Fed's WON'T be doing JBT door-to-door confiscations.  If you won't join up because your name might be on a list, I've got news for you.  It almost definitely already is.

What the fuck is wrong with you people???  I said "Hesitate" not throw myself into a closet and hide!  What is wrong with thinking before you act and trying to determine the possible consequences of ones actions???  Some of the IQs around here just hover above the floor... With such people its a miracle we still have the right to bear arms.

Oh yeah... I'll also bet my weeks paycheck that my balls are bigger than yours... Seamucus or whatever your name is...

#1 I recently moved, and when I changed my address I asked the NRA lady if they rented out their membership info. She said unequivocably NO. Furthermore, the NRA is lobbying hard to get NICS info destroyed ASAP. You think they're going to give it up so easy?

#2 If you're going to fight the antigunners, are you going to do so proudly through the proper channels? Are you willing to say, "Here's what I believe in...." ? If not, why bother?

The 1st Amendment has this little freedom of association clause thingy in it.  If the feds used lists of NRA members in gun round ups you'd have 2 reasons to splatter their brains (and feel good about it).

The FBI did the same thing to the Ku Klux Klan in the 60s, highly unconstitutional no matter how unsavory the group might be to the public.

Stock up on ammo for SHTF and join as many organizations as you can.  If we all run away and hide, the people who represent us in government will forget that we exist and terminate our rights without thinking about it.

While you're joining Human Rights groups like the NRA or JPFO (JPFO is the best, far more intellectual, and are ardently libertarian), sign every pro-gun petition around.

It's simple.  If you're really that worried and feel the government will be coming to your home because they got you name off a mailing list, don't join any of them.

Also, there are some members on here that can probably get you a good deal on tin foil hats.

Listen you miserable fucking shit, you are obviously a coward and a mamas boy.

You've already tucked your tail between your legs when you start worrying about whether or not the government will know who you are if you join the NRA.

Get over your  self shithead. If you were that worried about it, why did you even post here? Surely the FBI is hot on your ass as we speak. I'd get a fake ID and move to Mexico if I were you. You are in deep shit man. Do you think they can't track you down through your internet provider?

You should crawl under a rock and hide. The real world is obviously to scary for a person of your stature.

My god man, do you have any self respect? Stand up like a man.

You can type to me about what balls you have all day fucko, but until you start acting like it, go fuck yourself.

You make me want to puke you miserable wretch. Don't try and tell me how much balls you have dickweed, you've already surrendered them to the powers that be. You should have been more worried about the governments efforts to confiscate  them.

No seamucus... FUCK YOU!  I think the question I asked was more than reasonable.  You show the level of your intellect when all you can do is throw around insults.  You're a real son of bitch to call somebody a coward when you have absolutely no fucking idea who they are or where they've been.  I value the ideals that my rifles represent and I've spent a shitload of money on my rifles (mostly from leftover government finacial aid) and I value them more than anything that I own.  I don't want anybody knowing what I have, be they government officials or not.
Assholes like you make me angry beyond belief.  All you know how to do is put people down for even thinking differently than you do or asking a simple question which FOR YOU, the answer is clear.  Go fuck yourself...

By your very attitude you prove that you don't value the ideals that your guns represent. Or do you think that the words "the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed" was to be taken lightly.

Where do you think you would be if our founding fathers were as cowardly as you?

Imagine if the signers of the Declaration of Independance were worried about whether or not the British had their mailing address.

And what makes you think anybody cares how much you spent on your rifles anyway?

Keep up the fight dude!

Moron... our founding fathers werent too concerned about it because it wasnt nearly as easy for the government to get such information.  Furthermore, I believe that had the government had the ability to get it back then, the founding fathers would have been concerned and thats why they made sure that our beloved right was unequivocal!

As times change, so do realities and concerns... again, I don't think that my question was unreasonable and I don't think that my thought process here makes me a coward.
Where I'm from, intelligent men can discuss and debate issues in a reasonable, intelligent and respectful manner... You are obviously not from where I'm from...

I always assume that anytime I pay for something with my Visa card, the gov't has the info.  I don't know for sure though.

I don't worry about it.  Seems like all I buy with it are alchohol, tobacco and firearms.  Ok, that and porn, and a little bit of food.

I would think the actual lists of members wouldn't be given away freely to the gov't.  But with enough resources, the gov't can get any list it wants.  I wouldn't sweat it.  By the time it comes down to the gov't smashing down the doors of millions of NRA members, for being members, we'd all be on the defensive anyway.

You guys shake hands and sing Kum-ba-ya.

We have to stop listening to the anti-gun BS. Guess what? The majority of LEO's are progun. We own guns. Do you think that there can be a round up of all the gun owners.
Remember that the LEOs  that are pushing to take your away OUR guns, stopped working the streets to get a desk job. DO you want to know why ? They are scared!
