http://www.denkins.com/sshorty.htm I'd say it looks like a short shotgun.

I think they're cute, but not worth $700 for a cut down AOW version of a $200 shotgun. If they were $300-400, I'd get one. That would make an interesting carry weapon. [:)]

With $200, fingerprinting, a background check, and the approval of YOUR local chief law-enforcement officer, you too can own a 3-shot super-short shotgun. Or, just take the civil service examination become a privileged member of our overseer class, and go to work for, say, the IRS. Postal inspector? Department of Agriculture field agent? "I'm from the government, and I'm here to help you."

The shorty is classified as Any Other Weapon and is subject to a $5 transfer tax, not the $200 tax for other Class 3 weapons.

I thought that it was interesting to. but the price is high. has anybody seen one similar elsewhere for cheaper? how hard would it be to do this yourself? here is one that can be legally cut down..but you need the parts and know how I guess. http://www.tacticalinc.com/xfer/x12gaow-1.html

The first one (the Serbu Super Shorty) has the forward grip that folds down and locks in place. If you started with the second one (from Craig Wheatley at Tactical Innovations)you'd have to not only cut down the barrel, but fashion a vertical forward grip that would work to cycle the weapon. For the $300 difference, you'd probably be better off just to get the Serbu - its a nice piece. I've shot a similar one from another very well known and respected C2 with a non-folding vertical grip. It was nice but because it didn't fold up, it was a bit more bulky, and after a few boxes of ammo, the grip snapped off. Check out Mark Serbu's page, complete with video of it being shot.
