All this "agreement" states is that major gun components must be stamped with a unique serial number. This has been US law since 1968.

So what if the U.S. has been doing this for years. I don't like our gov't doing it and I sure as hell don't like these companies handing that information over to the UN!

Our own gov't having this information is bad enough! Although I can't think of any repercussions of our own gov't having this information so far, I still think it's a bad idea for it to be provided to the UN.

Just because its been done wrong for years doesn't make it right!
