I am just curious.

Is there any REAL benefit to the cost in making an M4-gery or is it purely asthetics?

There doesn't seem to be any benefit  over, say, a Bushmaster 16" flat-top A3.  Yet they seem to be the end all be all of AR's they way I see pics and such floating about.

Is there anything here other than looks?

(this has nothing to do with prebans)

I'd say that the Bushmaster XM14 M4 Type Post Ban Carbine is a M4gery. Would be more original with 14,5" Barrel and real Tele-Stock but...it looks more like a M4 than a 20" AR15 w/fixed carry handle...

With a postban, it is purely aesthetic.

That's why I didn't go crazy over the LEGP.  A fine rifle mechanically, but I do not like the neutered postban m4gery look.
