Here's one I know I'm going to get hell for from you guys in TX. But what the hell:

Two cougars were getting ready for the winter, one on the New Mexico side and the other on the Texas side. They agreed that they'd meet back at the state line in the spring to see how they eached fared during the winter months.

Come spring the cougar in New Mexico had to wait several days before the Texas cougar showed up.

When the Texas cougar finally did show up, he was scrawny, tired and weak.

"Gee, hunting must not have been to good for you this winter!" said the NM cougar.

"No. Actually I had my fair share of cowboys. Killed one just about every day."

"Really? How were you hunting them?

"Well, I'd sit up on a boulder and wait for them to come by on their horses. When they got close enough I'd let out a loud roar and pounce on them, knocking them to the ground."

"Ah! There's your problem! When you roared at them you scared the sh!t out of them, and when you knocked them to the ground you knocked all the air out of them and all you had left was a hat, belt buckle and pair of boots!"
