I just got rid of my ultra-gay Mini-14 and good riddence. Its the most politically correct gun any one can buy. Why make firearms if you are just going to give in to all the regulations and all the bs. Bill Ruger u can kiss my ass.[moon]

Once again, RUGER, as industry spokeman to the u.n. disarm America effort, is leading the way in giving up gun rights. And everyone jumped on s&w?
Link Posted: 7/12/2001 9:59:53 AM EST
He also testified to congress that all anyone needs is a 10 round magazine. Bill Ruger-Traitor. ...and I always wanted a 10/22. I'll keep my security six but I'll never buy anything else from them.

I got rid of my mini-14 over a year ago and bought an AR [sniper] ruger sucks ass.
Link Posted: 7/12/2001 10:26:22 AM EST
hey ruger SUCK IT. the 10/22 is great, but i am unimpresed with my M77 bolt action, infact, tomorow im gonna go try to sell it to a local dealer. he aint so bright, i think i can get my moneys worth.
Link Posted: 7/12/2001 11:01:01 AM EST
Sold my perban MINI-14 with factory folder, which was SS sand blasted and had the full TEFLON treatment, 8 SS 30 round mags, for just under $1,000. and the idiot who bought it, got $300. on a tradein, a short time later, for a post ban colt AR, which was maybe the cheapest AR colt makes, floppy carrier and all! I do believe, the powers that be, will push, and push until they can push no more, so be smart, and be ready!

I don't get it!! First Smith&Wesson and now Ruger selling out to the antis. Now I can see Smith&Wesson being a famous manufacturer to law enforcement making a bold and stupid move in their business practices, but Ruger is basically a a manufacturer for civilians. If Ruger gets into supporting gun control, who in the heck is going to be their customers?
Link Posted: 7/12/2001 11:26:13 AM EST
Don't knock yourself out over this. Ruger's guns suck anyway. The only gun that they ever made that was good was the 10/22. Everything else was horrible. The mini's were sh t. The bbls on them ruined the whole gun. Their bolt action rifles are not that accurate. The story goes on and on. Smith and Wesson is the same crap. Their auto's suck. The revolvers were one on the best in the world at one time. But the new ones cause of the boycott are N/G. I have a s&w at the gunsmith to fix the trigger that another gun smith messed up. I had very bad push off with this revolver. The new gunsmith said that all s&w revolvers that are new(within sereral years)has push off at one point. Well I thought he was giving me a line of BS.I have/had other smiths and you could put a 10 lb weight on that trigger and it wont break unless you pull that trigger. So I called up smith and they said the same thing. The gunsmith told me that they machine there parts different with not as much hard steel as they use to use. So s&w is being boycotted(thank god) and it must be hurting their quality. They are cutting corners to cut a profit. So now I can't get good parts to fix my gun. S&w and Ruger you got what you deserved!!!

Now worries reconxl. NO WAY this thread should be locked. TOTAL sarcasm on my part. personally, i believe what you are seeing in Ruger and S&W are businessman trying to cover themselves in a very HOSTILE environemnt - individual lawsuits, gov't lawsuits, etc. What it means is that they are in the business for MONEY, NOT for RKBA. So, let 'em hang, I say.

Actually he advised that a 15 round mag is all that anyone would need, cause he didn't make any handguns that hold more than that (selfish motives). Politicians decided to whittle that down to 10. Of course he was a fool to think that any limits were a good thing and I won't be buying any rugers either.

Ruger has had a changing of the guard, unless i'm wrong.Tell me none of you loved your 10/22s.For the money rugers firearms are the best value on the market..imo..as well as the LIFETIME WARRENTY....

Bill Ruger has been a snake-in-the-grass to the gun owners for decades. This man is not to be trusted. He is a traitor.

I'm not going to sell my Ultra-Gay Mini-14. Because when they come and take away my AR's, at least I'll have an Ultra-Gay Mini-14 that can shoot my alledged stockpile of ammo. Seriously, As previously mentioned... At the U.N. meeting, the only thing Ruger volunteered to do, was put serial numbers/dates on it's firearms, and store the data. Something U.S. gun manufacturers already do. This doesn't effect my RKBA or sense of privacy. We're still at "strike two" as far as I'm concerned. I'm not going to knee jerk all the major firearms manufacturers away.

Are all you people slamming Ruger going to slam Glock and Beretta just as hard? They were at the same meeting and agreed to the same thing.
Details were completed at the Paris meeting attended by senior executives from Sturm, Ruger; Glock, whose pistol is the best seller with U.S. police forces; Berretta Armaments Italy, which makes the second U.S. police favorite; and French armsmaker Verney-Carron.

The source and the documents seen by AP did not say exactly how many arms manufacturers -- American or otherwise -- were participating in the initiative.

Goes to show what you know. The P series auto happen to work quite well.

The #1 is a great rifle.the Blackhawk is a great single action. The speed and security six were tough double actions. What about the MK2 auto. Every bodt rags on S&W and Ruger. What about Colt.Overpriced anything decent went to the custom shop.Oh what about the decision years ago about no more AR's to civillians. The point is you keep boycotting everyone the antios are going to get what they want.
Link Posted: 7/12/2001 2:12:21 PM EST
I won't give up on Ruger yet - I just hope that things don't get any worse. I think that the 10/22, 22/45, and the GP100 were (and still are) great firearms. Tyler
Link Posted: 7/12/2001 4:00:53 PM EST
I buy guns becuase I like them not what thier company views are. One by One the antis are going to pick them off and when they are all going to be gone, then what are we going to do. Ruger, Colt and S&W, next could be Bushmaster and Armalite and Mossberg. They were slready hoping to burn Glock but they are having a problem there. And the list can keep going on. The fact of you buying a gun already pisses them off. Six
Link Posted: 7/12/2001 4:09:57 PM EST
I can arrange bashings for Glock and Berreta, no problem.
Link Posted: 7/12/2001 4:28:08 PM EST
I've got a brand new stainless mini 14 rancher(no box) I would like to sell and of course I would be willing to donate those proceeds to my individual RKBA [:D]

ill give ya 2 bucks for the ranch rifle [:D]
Link Posted: 7/12/2001 4:40:44 PM EST
Good for you.... I happen to have both S&W and Ruger products. I'm keeping them! I like all my guns, there MINE! ALL MINE!!!! sorry was getting carried away... When you guys that dont like these things (rugers and S&W) want to come to resonable prices for your somehow defective guns.... I mean if their crap and all.... maybe we can make a deal.. I got a POS series 80 stainles for 350 with less than 100 rounds through it. It was a POS so I couldn't pay top dollar.... I could use a 627...I think it is a 627 that I liked.... I got a hundred bucks for your roten mini and mags,,, ok mag parts ;)
Link Posted: 7/12/2001 5:42:16 PM EST
Bobby Vincent is correct as Bill Ruger testified 15 rds as a limit was OK and acceptable. Partly this was economic but fellow RKBA believers... do you really believe that his statements were made without coersion or blackmail? Yep, 15 rds, 10 rds, no rds it all is the same if one places a limitation of any figure/number. But lately I'm a little more forgiving after the S&W HUD Blackmail thing. I'm thinking Colt and Ruger faced some things we don't know which were pretty serious. I'm even getting to the point where I would not be surprised that threats were made regarding Family members. I have hard time here thinking these guys just folded without pressure for no apparent reason unless of course they had some strange senile conversion like a Goldwater. H2O was old and senile, McCain received a brain damaging injury from the beatings, confinement and others Horrors by the NVA,. McCain can be understood but MUST be voted out and should be. Respect? I have that for him and forever BUT VOTE HIM OUT as he is unfit. Limits on firearms after the NFA Act of the 1930s ( I disagree with that act) are so beyond the pale and transparent I just have to believe anyone who supported and voted for it was somehow screwed with or blinded by the great Socialist and Destroyer of the Constitution FDR who opposed our Rights given by God. Geeeeez lbj, please...not the God word! Well how else are they definitive for all TIME? Huh? Deny the Truth of the Creator and all is lost in a political World. There will be are no absolutes. Darn. WE lose. Yep, there must be more than meets the eye and there usually is. But lbj is just another fool, a pawn, a person in need of a little "persuasion" to walk in the path of righteousness. Nope, please delete me as so much computer trash first. Happens all the time. Remember Waco? Darn lbj, shut the heck up.

yes, i am sending emails to ALL of them voicing my displeasure to any agreement with the u.n. this is the u.n. foot in the door, and it needs to be stopped before it starts. just pointing out that ruger, as the spokesperson, seems to always be in the lead in giving up ground to the anti's.
Link Posted: 7/12/2001 7:11:57 PM EST
Except for the 10/22 Ruger sucks, now with their comments, there will be no 10/22 in my sons future. As far as Glock goes, I depend on my Glocks, but if they cave in, then I will view what I had as pre-glock, there will be no post-glock.
Link Posted: 7/12/2001 7:39:43 PM EST
Is it my imagination or are you guys getting all worked up over nothing? I have a Ruger 77 and a .22/45 and a Mini (yeah flame away), and I like 'em all. While Bill Ruger was an a-hole for proposing mag limitations, and he is responsible for pulling regular-cap Mini mags off the market, he has given a lot of $$$ to RKBA and I haven't heard of him doing anything outrageous recently. This UN stuff is just a re-hash of stuff gun companies already do.
Link Posted: 7/12/2001 8:34:53 PM EST
guys hello we alread have what the un wanted on guns its called a serial number. besides when a gun company goes under the liberals smile and just go well the stupid conservatives did our job for us one down more to go
Link Posted: 7/12/2001 10:38:01 PM EST
i cant believe the ignorance and bashings in the statements made against the gun companies. first of all bill ruger retired like a year ago, 2nd he is NOT the sole decision maker in the company. there are other exec's who are bring up ideas (like a mag cap limit) and voting plans into action. 2nd -- the mini14 is over 20 years old, it was PC before PC guns even existed, and it wasnt that great of a gun back then either. so why do you all think that a mini14 is now SUDDENLY so PC and such a POS ??? tell me one gun company that isnt in it for the money and solely for RKBA ??? there arent any. NO MONEY means NO business, means NO doantions for RKBA, mean NO research on new guns, means NO employees and for the person who says that there son will never own a 10/22...he may not get one from you, but what stops him from getting one when he reaches the age to buy his own guns ? some of you guys really need to get your heads out of your ass's and yes i think ruger makes some fine guns (not all but most)

Hey, let's boycott Remington because they supplied weapons to the Union in the Civil War. Or we can boycott Colt for banning civilian sales of the AR for a couple years! I'm sorry, but you guys who are bent on destroying S&W and Ruger for mere slights are beyond stupid. If the 2 largest producers of firearms in the country went out of business the antis would jump up and down for joy. And Ruger actually produces very high quality firearms. I have a Mini-30 that can hit a gallon milk jug at 250 yds. consistently and a P95 that is capable of 2-inch, 10-shot groups at 25 yds. The 10/22 is simply the best .22 autoloader available, with plethora parts and accessories. Go ahead and boycott, eventually all the firearms firms will be gone and y'all will be the biggest jackasses in the history of big jackasses.

I have had 10/22's,(Still have one pre-ban back east)I have a Ruger MK1 & Ruger MKII target model, I had a Ruger Super Redhawk in .44 mag all excellent guns! Given the opportunity and the means I intend on another 10/22 and Super Redhawk. Would you rather have a gun from a company that may not be completely in your best interests or no guns at all? I rather have guns... Eventually you know all Gun Manufacturers will be forced to jump on the same wagon....it's just a matter of time... We are not fighting hard enough! If we are losing! John
