I vote we let him stay, if he changes his handle to Captain Obnoxious.

Wrong again young drip down leg.

Nizzninja's are lowly moppers of porn palaces by night, but also masters of disguise.

Wow,
They both use UUNet.  The biggest commercial POP provider in the US.  I am really intrigued by your discovery, Capt. Oblivious.

POP or PPP??  I'm going to have to know all of this by next semester, but nevertheless I'd like to know the difference now.

This little one is not worthy. You have simply compounded your error. You have united the entire board against you.

Actually POP3 is the mail protocol.  Shortened to POP.  POP or PoP also stands for Point of Presence, or an ISP modem.  Didn't get a job at a crappy call center because of that.  Now I'm a NetEng.  Go figure.

UUnet is a commercial provider that happens to have a lot of Internet infrastructure.  ISPs rent their modem pools for their $19.95 customers.  If you ever have to type ISP/username when you log in to a dial up, you are likely hitting a modem not owned by your ISP.
Most everyone uses PPP.  SLIP is pretty dated and doesn't offer all the features of PPP.

You'll have fun next semester.
