I don't remember any of that letter stuff/motto stuff all you guys know. I just remember that it was San Diego, and at the end the crazy guy in the hat and the sword said "Platoon One Thousand One Hundred and Eight, Dismissed!" and I was off to freedom, beer, and the wing, baby!
I saw one of those dickweed DIs later (the second set were the jackasses--good story material for later on about how we had two sets)
Anyway, there I was, at Posco Pier, back when Team Spirt really was something. I was drunk again, and saw one of the jerks off across the area in the dunkin donuts tent (if you never went to Pusan for TS or VB this makes no sense, just go with it--on second thought, when your cash no longer is enough to drink in your unit bar, you have to return to this huge tent at the dock for rice and more [cheap] beer) The whole huge place is drunk and getting drunker. I share my plan to introduce his head to my OB bottle. Some buds held me back, and saw that I was properly drinking so I would forget that plan.

Plt 1008?  SSGT Brooks?

I was Plt 1009!!! (I was the guy who graduated in Blues)
SSGT Brooks was 9 feet tall and looked like a black skull.  He used to march around mumbling: "chicken blood! chicken blood!"

Hey Major Murph, I guess we were series mates!
SSgt Brooks was a "scary" dude, always hated to be on fire watch and have him wander thru. He would always stop and take the time to tell you how F-ed up you were, compared to his platoon.

In Plt 1008, our senior was Sgt(SSgt selectee) Blanton. He was a quiet, little, nonscary white dude. By the way, our claim to fame was "we didnt win shit". We won nothing, not drill, range, knowledge, Bn commander inspection, pugil sticks, NADA. Our motivation table held but one item, a certain feminine hygene product, alas we were a proud lot.....
