Aside from National Parks, which state and federal land can I go shoot on without fear of someone calling the cops.  I have a "dueling tree" I would like to practice on for IPSC matches and can't use it at my range.  Anyone?

I usually go to the BLM lands out here, which are open to all public use, unless other specified, to my understanding.

From the utah page:

BLM is do anything land, can hunt, shoot and drive 4x4s
might be some restrictions in your area, so go to the blm office and get a map and rules

natl forest is hunt only, no target shooting (at least in my area)

natl park is No guns ever

Sure you're not confusing National Parks with National Forest?
Everything I've read on Parks, you can't even carry a gun.
