1: Sporting Purposes? How about self-defense, law enforcement, and the saving of lives?
2: I bought about 100 bucks of ammo today at WalMart and sent a copy of the receipt to K-Mart.[;D]
3. When asked by the WallyWorld employee if the ammo (.22LR, 9mm, and .45ACP) was for handguns, I honestly answered "no," as even though these rounds are all chambered in handguns, I own carbines in these calibers.
4. There was a young kid of about 11 years of age at WallyWorld at the gun counter while I was there. He asked me if I was a Marine (I replied "Yes, a FORMER Marine from about 16 years back,") He said, "Good. I want to be a Marine like you..." He asked me about the shotgun I was admiring, and I let him handle it. Before I could tell him how to check the chamber, he had done so, and then put his finger in the chamber to confirm. All this time, this kid was "Yes, Sir, No Sir." He had been taught properly, I guar-an-God-darn-tee you. As I was leaving, a young lady approached me and asked if he was my boy. After denying the honor, she said that she wished all kids were like this young man, as he was very polite, well mannered, and intelligent, and that she thought he was my son. I tell you, though, the man who is that kid's father has DONE RIGHT. And I want to extend a heartfelt "THANK YOU, SIR" to him, whoever he is. By the way, this was at the Bushnell, FL WalMart. Our goose may not be cooked yet, if there are still kids out there like this.
