While at a customers house today, I got involved in a conversation with the 12 yr/o son of my customer that was intersting in what I was doing. The subject eventually got around to hunting to firearms to the 2nd Amendmant then the Constitution and the UN.
When it got to the 2nd Amendmant part, I asked my customer if it was okay to discuss my beliefs with him. She said, "By all means please do!"
When the subject came to the UN I asked him what he thought about it.
"I think it's a move towards what it would be like in Star Trek. Kinda neat really."
I explained to him the reason the U.S. Gov't was set up the way it was, was so that if you didn't like the laws or gov't in one state, you could move to a state that you liked. If the UN became a one world gov't, and laid out laws for everyone, then you'd have no place to go. I explained that you can't have one law for everyone in the whole world because so many people have so many different beliefs and to even try would make everyone miserable.
I ended up giving him a copy of the Constitution and Declaration of Independence produced by the CATO Institute and underlined Article 4 Section 4 for him in case anyone every told him that we were a democracy.
The mother thanked me! Normally I don't mix my political beliefs with business, but this was the exception. Glad I did.
The 12 yr/o said he was going to to have to talk to his older brother about all this because his older brother had this plan for a world where everyone would work for the betterment of others and if you refused to do so you would be shot.
The mothers jaw almost hit the floor.
I know all this sounds strange and that you think I might have embelished this story, but it happened! I've actually left allot of stuff out.
