Yes. But I don't know exactly where I would draw the line. Maybe any centerfire cartridge originally designed for a rifle but I consider the 22 hornet as marginal.

I think at this point the media would call a bolt action .177 a high powered assalt weapon!

I would think more of a .30 calibre rifle or higher.

.223 punches through cinder blocks, and quarter inch steel. What more do you need?

No it's not a 7mm mag, but so what.

High powered enough to be considered such I would think.
