my pal's got the mossberg 590. i've got an m1s90 with a 10.5in bbl. from class 3 supply. i'm partial to semi-auto and a pistol-grip stock. his mossy is ok, but i LOVE my 'nelli!

the scatter gun tech (now wilsons?)- a rem. 870- was a real brick.
i'm spoiled! [shotgun]

mossberg has a new d.a. only. if that appeals to you.
there's the jungle gun too, and you can get a folder on that. (5 rnd capacity)

I've got a Remington 870 with a 12" barrel.  Get ready for some flash (you'll be surprised if you shoot it at night) & some kick.  These things kick like mules.  I agree that a fixed stock is the way to go.  I had a Butler Creek folding stock on mine and it kept coming loose from all the recoil.  They are fun and everybody loves watching them!  Good Luck.

I'd go with the 'nelli, probably has the fastest follow up shot capability out there, also low recoil.  I can even shoot winchester and federal low recoil rounds without a hiccup.  My friends rem 1187 can only eat full power loads.

I shot some brand new fabarms shotguns at a HK Tactical Medic class at thier facility in May.   These were all (over 50 students/guns) brand new guns, as they were having ejection problems with the old guns.....well....probably about one third (at least) had ejection problems.  Both the pump and the semi auto's.  I had a semi-auto that had to be field striped to get the shell out it!  They got on the phone with the guys from Italy at the factory.  Overheard part of the conversation.....I'll just say it wasn't pretty.  They flew out that day from Italy, and were there at 8:00 the next morn.  First thing he said as he got out of the rental car 'show me the damn shotguns'!  He didn't look happy.
As part of the perks for graduating, you get to buy a HK/Fabarms gun at thier dealer price.  [:)]  When asked about buying a shotgun, the instuctors said they wouldn't get one if they were free!  Well good enough for me.
The short 14" barreled entry gun seemed to to funtion ok.....but, I still don't like the odds.
Wish they had stayed with Bennelli, (they do to) so I could get one at dealer cost!  [<]:)]
