Anybody know how much US Gov't is currently paying FN for each M-16A2 rifle? I think I once heard few years ago that FN's bid was $480 for each rifle plus "some spare parts" but I'm not sure. Is the cost of M4 higher? How about M9 Beretta pistol?

My friend just told me the M9 cost the Gov't about $300 each (maybe he's full of shit?). Good deal compared to us civilians paying about $500.

I remember about 10 years ago I heard that the going price was about $200 for a M16 & about $100 for an AK47. Oh how paying retail sucks.[:(][:(][:(] ColtShorty GOA KABA COA JPFO SAF NRA "I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted and I won't be laid a hand on. Any Army Reservists here, MOS 76Y? Look in the MTOE document register and see what it costed the unit. Every piece of equipment that is allowed to the unit is listed in the MTOE. Also should have current replacement cost on micro-film. OSA

I looked in FedLog a few months ago, I think it was about $600 for the A2.

The Army now uses "FEDLOG" to catalog and price all equipment. Everything is on CD-Rom which we get once a month. Last time I checked, the price of an A2 was in the $700 dollar range. Of course, in order to save money, the Government has taken many of the old A1's and refurbished them as A2's. We can still see the overstamp from A1 to A2 on several of these weapons.

I wish ARs were selling at that price.
