Can you give me a breakdown of the different models of the 9x series of pistols.  Just the full size ones.  For example the centurion, F, FS, D  I know the 92,96 indicates caliber but what are the different letters?  Thanks in advance.

The FS is the updated version of the F.  I can't tell you exactly what was changed.
The D is for double-action only models.

They have several different names for different configurations that usually have some changes in the slide or  barrel length.

D - Double action only.

G - Decock only (no safety).

F - Safety/decock.

FS - This is the current model with a slide stop installed to prevent the slide from flying off and hitting you, in the event of a slide failure (like the incident with the SEALs).

Centurion - Shorter slide w/ flush mounted barrel.

Brigadier - Beefed up slide

Inox - Stainless steel.

Compact - Centurion w/ smaller frame (13-rounds).

Type M - Singe stack version of Compact (8-rounds).

As mentioned above, the FS was a 92F modified after an accident occurred to SEALS.

TO remark the point, the Seals were using +P+ 9 mm. ammo intended for UZIs... the NATO 9mm. doesn't not erogate high pressure like the ammo for smgs...

See ya...
